And So Begins a New Year and Another Chapter Closes...Or Does it?

Back to work yesterday after a long, much needed Holiday. It has been an interesting return to say the least. Using my last vacation day of 2012 on Monday the 31st and having Tuesday off makes for a short week. There are still lingering Christmas decorations, people still out and I still have residual project work from last year. As I sit at my desk I struggle to wrap my head around the fact that 2012 has ended and a New Year has begun nothing seems different and yet everything will begin anew. It's a parallel universe of two worlds colliding. So as I begin the ritual of bringing some kind of order to the confusion by throwing out unnecessary papers, books, etc. and start writing goals for the New Year I realize that there never is a definite beginning or end other than the days on the calendar. We never truly let go of the past nor should we. There are many lessons to be learned and memories to hold close. I am not suggesting that we live there, quite the contrary! We need to move on and grow so we can look back and cherish. A new calendar year is for cleansing and to help us let go of the good, bad and ugly. We may have accomplished all of our goals from the previous year or we may have abandoned all them realizing they were not as great of ideas in reality as they were in dreams. Whatever the case may be I will use this time to regroup and refresh, but not dismiss. There are still those goals remaining from last year and previous years that I want to continue to strive for always.

So as I say good-bye to 2012 I won't actually close the book, but start a new chapter and bookmark all those lessons and memories to return to when I need a reminder.

Today's Blessing: I was blessed with a wonderful 2012 full of God's glory and certainly His grace!

  1. "Another year over... a new one just begun."

Happy New Year big sis! This year will be filled with promise, just like all the others. Here's hoping understanding comes to so you can "get" that promise. :)

High hopes for 2013!! High hopes!
