Everything I read about blogging said you have to have a gimmick, an angle, something to capture an audience. So I racked my brain wondering what a simple gal from Texas has to offer. I mean if I only write a diary about "a day in the life" it would go something like this:
4:00 AM - get up and go to the gym with my husband
6:00 AM - pack lunches (for 3 high school kids) and get ready for the day
8:00 AM - Start the work day
5:00 PM - End the work day
5:30 PM - Home to cook for the husband and kids
8:00 PM - Finally sit down after cooking/cleaning up
9:00 PM - Bed
Then "rinse and repeat" day after day. Seems this would prove to be a less than thrilling read. So instead I want to talk about a city girl gone country, a teen mom who followed a dream, a 30 something woman blending a family of teenagers, most importantly to relive the day and realize through all trials and tribulations there are blessings. So that a reader can take the same opportunity to reflect and also realize that life is "like a box of chocolates", that "when life gives you lemons..." and (insert any number of cliches).
So a real wife of La Vernia is just a real wife of any American town. And you care because we wives (and daughters and sisters and even husbands) can relate to the fact that not every day is good, but every day has good in it.
So today I am blessed to have a life and story to share...happy reading!
